The new year is finally upon us. If you're anything like me, you may feel like 2021 went out not with a bang, but a whimper.
2021 was a mixed bag. Some wonderful highlights - some less-than-ideal circumstances (I'm looking at your omicron). Either way, it's behind us now, and we welcome a new year with open arms. Hopeful. Optimistic. Cautious. And, without a doubt, curious to see what comes next.
With any luck, this will mark the final effort in the fight against COVID. I'm set to graduate (again!) this year, and enter the workforce. There's new challenges to undertake, new memories to make, new successes yet to bask in.
Sure, I have a resolution or two. This year, I'm resolved to tread cautiously (yet optimistically), explore every possibility in terms of what comes next... do what I can to stave off this pandemic. Spend time with family.
It's undeniable: this decade has, thus far, not been kind. The past two years have also gone by in what has simultaneously felt like a blink, and an ever-dragging, slow progression.
2020 was bad. 2021 was slightly better. With any luck, this new year will continue the progression toward a more positive direction.
2022, please be kind.
