a heat wave | thankful for ac

I feel like it's not often that you come across a place where half the year is too cold, and the other half is too hot.

If you're curious about what an example of one such place may be, look no further than Winnipeg.

Yes, the last several days out here on the prairies have been hot. So much so that the city opened up splash pads in a bid to allow people without air conditioning to cool down, since there would be no hospital space if somebody were to get heat stroke (thanks COVID!).

And, the heat shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. Though things will be slightly cooler next week (with storm risks, yay), it's still going to be hot. That sucks for people like me, who work in incredibly humid workplaces. I know Winnipeggers have a tendency to complain about the cold in the dead of winter... but this isn't what we mean when we say we want heat!

So, in the meantime, enjoy the time spent indoors. Looks like cold showers and air conditioning will be our new best friends.

Let's hope cooler days are ahead!
