The power went off tonight, so my sister and I were pretty bored. Turns out the Internet is basically our main source of entertainment during social distancing, and wifi doesn’t work when the power goes out (boo). But in a moment of boredom, we decided to crack out our old scrabble board, which quickly turned into a game with our parents.
See, our dad normally always wins games like that. But my sister was able to contribute some solid words (like “tavern”) right off the bat. Basically, she was always a few points behind him until she managed to tack an “s” at the end of the word “extra”, putting her in the lead. This prompted the declaration “an S changed my life”.
My contributions were far less impressive. I managed to come up with “asspot”, and that was about it. Yes, it’s a word now.
At the end of the day, my sister won by only a few points. Our dad was actually winning since he managed to use the Z tile, but had to deduct points because he also had a leftover Q.
Apparently, scrabble can actually be really fun (to quote my sister (again), “scrabble is my favourite game ever!!!!!”- probably only because she was winning).
Yay for literacy!
