If you were to ask me what my favourite holiday is, I'd say Christmas, no question about it.
This year, my favourite holiday looked a little different.
There was no big gathering on Christmas Eve or family coming over on Christmas Day. There was no tree set up, or any Christmas activities (like the annual Christmas craft show) to attend
But despite all that, it wasn't a bad year. It was actually pretty good.
Zoom and FaceTime make a big difference. Presents were still exchanged, cookies were still eaten, and at the end of it, I think we could all agree that we made the best of a weird year and still had a fair degree of fun and holiday spirit in the process.
With any luck, this year will all be a fluke, with a holiday season in a socially-distanced form never to be repeated again. It's a good reminder to always think outside the box and find ways to make the best of any situation, no matter how upsetting.
This year is almost over! Let's celebrate that. 2021 will be better, I'm sure.
