The festive season is upon us. Admittedly, a little strangely, but regardless, the countdown is on until Christmas, and 2021.
I think most of us would agree that 2020 is a year we'd all like to forget. But for all the stupidity this year flung at us, it wasn't uniformly bad. Celebrations still happened. People still gathered, albeit in different forms. And, in many respects, and at varying times, the greatest aspects of humanity were on display.
So in the four weeks left in this year, I think it's time to consider the positive. We can still decorate for holidays. We can still let others know that we're thinking of them. We can be grateful for the initial rollout of a vaccine that with any luck will mark the start of the end of this whole thing.
December is both an end and a beginning. We should try to recognize that, and practice some gratitude accordingly.
