Well, it's October 31st again... you know what that means!
No, not a crippling reminder that winter sneaks ever closer - but that it's Halloween! And, thankfully, things are slightly closer to the "before" times than they were last year (woohoo!).
Though no candy is being handed out at our house this year, we did have a small family shindig, which was nice. Though costumes technically were mandated, most of the adults chose to forego this requirement. I however, didn't, coming up with the incredibly unique "unicorn rancher" option, which basically consisted of a shirt with a unicorn on it, my trusty (and fashionable) stetson-like hat, and my normal jeans. Very fashion-unicorn-rancher-chic. Also very scary, I know - but it all worked out, since when my little cousins showed up, one of them was dressed as a unicorn. Clearly, we won the best group costume (even if it was unintentional).
Whatever you got up to today, I think we can agree that October flew by fast. Which, all things considered, maybe isn't a bad thing. I'm personally of the belief that the more time we can put between us and 2020, the better! With that, I'm looking forward to getting through these last several weeks of the term, and if we're being honest, I'm actually really excited for Christmas this year. Not so much because of the presents, but because it'll feel normal again (or normal-ish, anyways). My cousin is coming back from California. We'll be together in some capacity (I couldn't handle Zoom Christmas again), even masked, and it'll be yet another sign that we're putting this behind us.
So with that - bring it on, November!
