it's already august

Without a doubt, this summer has flown by. Arguably, quicker than most.

Yes, we already find ourselves situated at the beginning of the last of the summer months, with the imminent start of school looming only a month away.

For me personally, this is the last month before my own last year of school (as an undergraduate, at least). And it's somewhat scary, given that the all-critical search for a job will be lurking just around the corner.

Given that stress, I'm resolving myself to just live in the now. Not focused on the marginal reviews of professors I'll have in the fall, or the notion that I'll have PD sessions to run every week starting mid-September, or the thought of fighting with a seemingly endless sea of others for jobs. Not much I can do about that now; no sense borrowing worry from the future.

So for now, it's time to soak in the remaining summer sun. Take the chance to just be lazy - no evening French classes 3 nights a week, no homework to do on weekends, no lesson planning to be done for practicum. Just pure, uninhibited, summer bliss.

Here's to hoping August goes by slowly.
