Well I've hit a new "teacher first": it's officially report card season.
Yes, for the first time, I will be giving out report cards, instead of receiving one.
My my, how things change.
And, after an approximately 2 hour-long meeting on the subject, I think it's safe to say that report cards are slightly more involved than previously anticipated. Especially at my current school, where there's an extensive student-generated reflection piece included. Pedagogically great, professionally stressful.
But as with all things, this will also conclude eventually. After all, everything that needs to get done does in fact get done. The comments have started, the meeting is scheduled for November 18th... it's going well, it will continue to go well, no ifs, ands, or buts.
It's been a good week. As a bonus, it's a short week too because of Remembrance Day. And, even MORE good news, there's really not that many weeks until the Christmas break.
And so it goes, day by day. It's been a good couple days so far this week. Here's to hoping they continue.
