If I had to describe the past week in one word, I'd say it's been more or less flat. Work has been much the same. The strike situation is fundamentally the same (or possibly slightly worse, if the mediator is to be believed). And, let's not even get started with the newest viral variant. One silver lining, though, has been coffee with friends - that's always an appreciated distraction.
Basically, all this to say, life feels very blasé lately. All things considered, I'm okay with it. Things are about to get a little bit more exciting this upcoming Wednesday, when December rolls around and the countdown to Christmas is on. I think it's safe to say my entire family is resolved to have a "normal" Christmas this year. I, for one, am just hoping for an in-person celebration, complete with all the appetizers and drinks we enjoy every year.
So here's to the last few days of November, and whatever they may bring. And, here's to December, and to lots of family time this Christmas.
