As of today, phase one of the plan to reopen the economy kicks into effect. In theory, we can all flock to stores, hairstylists, and masseuses in droves.
Personally, I'll stay at home.
And while it's good to get some economic activity going again, I can't help but be skeptical, and wonder if this isn't going to cause a massive bump in cases, especially when we've been doing so well so far.
In my own little world though, I'm getting tired of this new "normal". Despite going outside for walks and drives, it's a little depressing knowing that really and truly, there's nowhere to go. I'm not sure if it's that fact, or the general grey weather outside, or the fact that there's a piece of dirt or something under the spacebar of my computer which is making typing more annoying than usual, but I just feel tired, all. The. Time.
My emotions about social distancing swing back and forth like crazy. Some days, social distancing doesn't bother me, other days, I wonder if this is ever going to end.
Yeah, sure, phase one of the plan is in effect. That's something to be excited about. But we can't get too far ahead of ourselves- hopefully the curve still stays flat, and we can keep lifting restrictions. But for now, we need to remain vigilant, and cautiously optimistic.
Let's hope sunnier days are ahead.
