The weather is warmer, the cases continue to drop, it seems like a new reality is dawning: spring is here.
Or at least, almost here.
I'd say us Manitobans, us Winnipeggers, deserve it. Though it wasn't a harsh winter by any stretch of the imagination, it was rough with lockdowns, crazy case counts, and a general feeling of unrest.
Almost a year on from the initial days of COVID, we've learned to live with this new normal. Which, consists mainly of walks and drives around town. Not a horrible way to pass time, but nothing like it used to be. At least with warmer weather, warmer days, ahead we can venture out and explore new frontiers right in our own city, our own province... our own backyard.
Between the new season, cases far from what they were in the days of 400+ daily cases, and daily vaccines ramping up, there's every hope that we're on the back half of this fight against this virus.
If nothing else, there's reasons to be optimistic.
